Look what the RCO accomplished last year!!!

The primary task of the RCO Parent Group is fundraising. We are Ridgeline parents that volunteer our time, energy, and knowledge in order to raise additional funds for our school to cover the ever growing gap in school financing.

We are able to decide how and when to raise the funds, and each year we also decide how the funds are distributed. Currently the RCO raises funds to pay for Ridgeline's PE and Music program (weekly music instruction plus choir for grades 4-8), as well as a part-time student counselor and field trip & supply fee scholarships for students. Providing these services for Ridgeline students is a high priority for the RCO as many local schools have been forced to cut these programs.

How much does it cost to pay for these programs?

We're very proud to say
that the RCO was able to raise the money needed to
preserve these programs for the 2012-13 school year!

Being a part of a Charter School is different and unique. Ridgeline has the freedom to operate more autonomously than other public schools. The 4J School District cannot cut programs like PE, lay off staff, cut school days, etc. at Ridgeline like they do at other 4J schools. As a charter school, Ridgeline gets to make its own decisions. Along with this freedom comes a responsibility to do more to make the school as wonderful as we want it to be.

Each year the RCO must come together to help
our amazing school
meet its goals.
